We are fiercely protective of our environment, pride ourselves on being a leader in sustainability and our free school tours program sees thousands of school children learn about the benefits of dairy too.Culture is at the forefront for Brownes we aspire to be a listening, learning and leadership organisation where everyone flourishes – our people, our farmer partners, our customers and of course the planet.The Role:  The Credit Officer plays a vitally important role in the and ownership of the Accounts Receivable function, to maximise the collection efficiency and minimise overdue/doubtful debts whilst maintaining a compassionate approach to our customers.Role Responsibilities:Debt Collection & Credit ControlMonitor customer accounts to ensure payments are received in accordance with agreed trading termsFollow up overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and written correspondencePrepare and maintain aged receivables reports and escalate high-risk or long-outstanding debtsNegotiate payment plans with customers where requiredApply receipts accurately and allocate payments to customer accountsPlace accounts on credit hold or release holds in line with company credit policyWork closely with Sales and Management to resolve payment issuesRecommend accounts for external collection or legal action where necessaryClaims & Dispute ProcessingReceive, investigate, and resolve customer claims, disputes, and payment discrepanciesVerify pricing, rebates, delivery issues, and invoice accuracyLiaise with internal departments (Sales, Logistics, Customer Service) to resolve claims efficientlyProcess credit notes and adjustments in accordance with company proceduresMaintain accurate records of claims and dispute resolutionsEnsure claims are resolved within agreed timeframes to minimize payment delaysCustomer Service & Relationship ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for customer account enquiriesProvide clear, professional communication regarding invoices, statements, and payment statusBuild and maintain positive working relationships with customersRespond promptly to phone and email enquiriesSupport customers with billing queries, and statement requestsEnsure customer interactions are always handled courteously and professionallyRequirements:Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field with professional experienceExperience with JDE or SAP systems will be highly regardedSound knowledge of Microsoft SuiteWhat do we offer?Working with a supportive, friendly finance team who are all located at our Head Office in Balcatta. The Role:

Role Responsibilities:

Debt Collection & Credit Control

  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure payments are received in accordance with agreed trading terms
  • Follow up overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence
  • Prepare and maintain aged receivables reports and escalate high-risk or long-outstanding debts
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers where required
  • Apply receipts accurately and allocate payments to customer accounts
  • Place accounts on credit hold or release holds in line with company credit policy
  • Work closely with Sales and Management to resolve payment issues
  • Recommend accounts for external collection or legal action where necessary

Claims & Dispute Processing

  • Receive, investigate, and resolve customer claims, disputes, and payment discrepancies
  • Verify pricing, rebates, delivery issues, and invoice accuracy
  • Liaise with internal departments (Sales, Logistics, Customer Service) to resolve claims efficiently
  • Process credit notes and adjustments in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of claims and dispute resolutions
  • Ensure claims are resolved within agreed timeframes to minimize payment delays

Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer account enquiries
  • Provide clear, professional communication regarding invoices, statements, and payment status
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers
  • Respond promptly to phone and email enquiries
  • Support customers with billing queries, and statement requests

Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field with professional experience
